Summary : Early 14th century 2 storeyed entrance porch, the only surviving element to Bishop Salmon's Hall.
More information : (TG 23500902) Porch (NR) (1) The 14th century porch is all that remains of Bishop Salmon's Hall (wrongly called Palace on the OS 1:500) dated 1318-25. The porch is of stone with two lancets, buttresses, two ogee arches and the remains of a spiral staircase. Scheduled. Grade I. (2-4) The porch are in excellent condition. See Ground Photographs. (5) Porch to former State hall, early 14th century. Two storeys, the top storey is partly ruinous. (6)
