Summary : A bowl barrow containing a primary cremation
More information : Barrow 17 (1) SU 21865219: Collingbourne Kingston 16, a bowl barrow 20 paces in diameter and 3ft high. (2) Excavated by Colt Hoare (RCH Barrow 16) who located a (?) primary cremation. (3) This barrow was investigated by Thomas (Site XXI) in 1957, the ditch was found to be `slot-like, with a flat floor 1-2ft wide'. (4) The dimensions given for this barrow are substantially correct. OS 1:2500 survey revised. (5) Originally recorded as Collingbourne Kingston 16 by Goddard. (6)
