Summary : A disc barrow excavated by Colt Hoare who located a central cremation
More information : Barrow 15 (1). SU 21815214, Collingbourne Kingston 14, a disc barrow, mound 36ft in diameter x 2ft high, berm 20ft wide, ditch 15ft wide x 6in deep, outer bank 15ft wide x 6ins high (2). Excavated by Colt Hoare (RCH barrow 14) who located a cremation at its centre. (3) The barrow ditch was excavated by Thomas in 1953 (Site IV). The ditch was found to be approx. 3ft deep. No artefacts were recovered. (4) The dimensions given for the barrow are substantially correct. OS 1:2500 survey revised. (5) Originally recorded as Collingbourne Kingston 14 by Grinsell. (6)
