Summary : House, built in 1707 for the Second Earl of Chesterfield and extended in the 19th and 20th centuries. Two storeyed, built of brick and sandstone ashlar with a hipped tiled roof. A segmental pediment stretches across the width of each facade. The house stands close to the site of an earlier, moated building, which was granted a licence to crenellate in 1546. |

Brizlincote Hall, a two-storeyed building and attic of red brick with stone dressings, was built in 1707. The inscribed date 1714 is a late addition. A vast segmental pediment extends across the width of the building. The doorcases have architrave surrounds, carved consoles and scrolled pediments. Grade 2*. (2-3)

The present house replaced an earlier building which stood on a moated site nearby. A licence to crenellate was granted in 1546. The house was later abandoned and the site purchased by Lord Chesterfield who demolished the building and constructed his own house in 1707. (5) |
