Summary : The main gateway of Tutbury Castle, 14th century.

The main gatehouse at the north end of the castle is known as
John of Gaunt's Gateway, and is of 14th century construction
with a barbican of about 1400. (2)

The massive solid projections to the base of the gatehouse were
probably added in the time of Charles I (3)

The gatehouse is in good condition and accurately described
above. (4)
