Summary : Second World War pillbox at Tunstall. The pillbox was built in 1940-1 and is constructed of reinforced concrete.
More information : (TA 3081 3166) Lozenge pillbox. (see TA 14 NE 16 for full description) This pillbox, of the standard `lozenge' type, was situated to the north west of Kiln Farm. The site consisted of a re-inforced concrete structure which follows the standard pattern for a lozenge pillbox. The pillbox faces east towards the sea, and when it was visited by the Fortress Studies Group during the Holderness Survey in 1992 it was in good condition, and considered to be at little risk. (1) PILLBOX Location: Tunstall. Construction: In the period 1940 1941 Field Visit: In the period 1992/04/09 1992/04/12 (2) World War 2 lozenge shaped pillbox to the northwest of Kiln Farm. The pillbox faces east towards the sea. In good condition in 1992, and considered to be at little risk. (3)
