This `U' shaped, single storey building was built around 1915 to house the officers commanding Green Battery. The building is flat roofed and is of concrete block construction. The site was visited by the Fortress Studies Group in 1992, they found the site to be in very good condition and felt that it was at little or no risk. (1-1a)
The monument and other military buildings are visible as upstanding structures on air photographs examined as part of the Rapid Coastal Assessment Survey of the Yorkshire and Humber Estuary. (2)
