This road block, formed from three reinforced concrete anti-tank cubes placed accross Marlbrough Avenue, was to prevent enemy tanks using the main road landwards. The site was plotted from aerial photographs dated 1945 and was also visited by the Fortress Studies Group in 1992 during the Holderness Survey. They found the site to have been totally destroyed. The monument is also visible as upstanding structures on air photographs examined as part of the Rapid Coastal Assessment Survey of the Yorkshire and Humber Estuary. (2) |
