More information : TA 2105 4754/2112 4737. Anti-tank cubes. This twin row of anti-tank cubes, built of reinforced concrete, were intended to channel any invasion into heavily defended areas. They were arranged along the top of the beach in two rows. The site was plotted from aerial photographs dated 1945, but when the site was visited by the Fortress Studies Group during the Holderness Survey in 1992 they found the site to be totally destroyed. (1-1a)
The monument is also visible as upstanding structures on air photographs examined as part of the Rapid Coastal Assessment Survey of the Yorkshire and Humber Estuary. Due to coastal erosion the monument no longer survives in situ. (2)
