Summary : Ogbeare "Castle" field name. Alleged site of castle.
More information : SX 29899618. Two fields to the north of Ogbeare Farm were called Castle Marsh in 1840 (1) (NB the OS have already checked the northern of the two - see SX 29 NE 9 but apparently not the more likely castle site to the south.) Permission to check this field could not be obtained as the farmer was away but this should be done (2). (1-2)
