| Summary : Neolithic occupation site in Corner Field, Rudston Wold. Five pits (Corner Field Sites 2,6,8 and 11) containing pottery, flint implements and animal bones have been excavated. Pits 2,6, 7 and 8 are to the west of Rudston Cursus A, but pit 11 was between the banks of the cursus 600ft north of the terminus. A patch of brown soil filling a slight hollow in the surface of the natural chalk was exposed by ploughing. Sherds, flint and a few animal bones were recovered from the pit. |

Corner Field Sites 2, 6, 7, 8, and 11. Pits containing Grimston,
Rudston and Peterborough Ware pottery, flint implements including
arrowheads, scrapers and knives. Also some stone and animal bones.(1) |
