Summary : Supposed site of a Roman milefortlet, part of the Roman Frontier Defence. There is no trace at the position shown on OS 6-inch record sheet, which is at the base of a ridge on its seaward side. A more promising situation would be at some point on the summit of the ridge which runs roughly parallel to the public road and about 40m to the east of it at about NY 094 498, but this now is occupied in part by a bungalow and caravan site.

There is no ground evidence of antiquity at the indicated site in plough, nor has the farmer any knowledge of an underlying structure. (2)

No trace of a milefortlet at the position shown on OS 6-inch record sheet, which is at the base of a ridge on its seaward side.
