MILEFORTLET 15

DESCRIPTION + /

The conjectural site of Roman milefortlet 15, now destroyed by coastal erosion. It was part of the defences supporting Hadrian's Wall along the Cumbrian coastline. An evaluation circa 350m south-west of the fort at Beckfoot sought to identifiy the remains, if any, of a cemetery and milefortlet 15. No evidence for the milefortlet was found.
