Summary : A two storey early 19th century cottage of which the end curved wall is a remnant of a former bastion of the town wall.
More information : [TF 0329 0707].......The remains of a bastion are incorporated in No.5 Wharfe Road. (1) GP. AO/61/300/6 Md tower remains from the West. (2) In view of the proximity of the Water Gate (TF 00 NW 205) this may have been a gate tower rather than a bastion proper, the plan dimensions are also smaller than those of the surviving bastion on the town wall. (TF 00 NW 211) (3) A two storey early 19th century cottage of which the end curved wall is a remnant of a former bastion of the town wall. Grade 2. (4)
