Summary : Gravel quarry in Hyde Park comprising an irregular, flat-based depression 60.5 metres long, 20 metres wide and 1.1 metres deep. It is thought to be one of several pits worked for road metalling for the construction of Rotten Row in 1690.

An irregular, flat-based depression 60.5m long, 20m wide and 1.1m deep, is the site of a small quarry for gravel. Depicted on the OS 25 inch map of 1878 (1a), it may be one of several pits worked for road metalling for the construction of Rotten Row c. 1690 (see also NMR nos. TQ 27 NE 108, 110 and TQ 28 SE 125).
