Summary : Possible fortified Elizabethan house built circa 1575, rebuilt in 1673 possibly by Vincent Amcotts and extended in the early 18th century. Two storey house plus attics built of red brick with a slate roof. The house was extensively damaged by fire in November 1991 and is now rebuilt. |
More information : Harrington Hall, possible fortified Elizabethan brick house built by John Copledike c.1575 (according to a dated beam), rebuilt 1673 onwards, extended in early 18th c. and extensively damaged by fire in November 1991. Hall is associated with Tennyson who wrote poetry to Rosa Baring (Maud) who lived at the Hall. (1-2)
