Summary : Site of a courthouse, Bolingbroke, of mud and stud construction, built in 1558 and demolished in 1650.
More information : Site of Courthouse built in 1558, W of SS Peter and Paul's Church
(TF36NW12), on land now occupied by Black Horse public house. Of
mud and stud construction with thatched roof it was aligned N-S
measuring 40 feet by 20 feet 6 inches. Its purpose was probably
intended to replace rooms in the nearby castle (TF36SW10). It was
demolished in 1650. (1)
