Summary : Site of the Gilbertine grange of Aldefeld, part of the endowment of Bullington Priory.
More information : TF 0384. Monastic grange (?unlocated) of Aldefeld was based on part of the foundation endowment of Bullington Priory and held until the Dissolution. It continued as a residence at least through the 17th century (a). The site has been equated with Falkingworth Grange (TF 042842) but this farm lies some 300m outside the nearest boundary of the old enclosures of Oldfield of 1795, and did not exist at enclosure.
