Laughterton

Hob Uid: 891705
Location :
Lincolnshire
West Lindsey
Kettlethorpe
Grid Ref : SK8370075800
Summary : Planned village.
More information : (SK 837758). Settlement of Laughterton looks like a planned
two-row street village, with properties of approximately equal
depth on either side of a straight N-S street. Those on the E
have extra long tofts running back to the Sallie Bank, the
medieval pale of Kettlethorpe Park (4). Laughterton is always
recorded with Kettlethorpe in tax returns: when separated in
1841 it was clearly the greater centre of population, as now, and
probably had been earlier too. (1)
