Built in the 12th century, extended in the 13th and 15th centuries and altered in the 17th century. Possibly formerly attached to a vicar's pele. Built of sandstone with a slate roof. Listed Grade I. (6)
The east wall of the chancel once formed the west wall of a detached building standing to the east of the church. The chancel was extended to incorporate this building in the 17th century. Documentary sources suggest that this structure may have been a vicar's pele. (7) |
