Summary : Pair of Bronze Age burnt mounds. Moseley, Wake Green. They lie adjacent to the banks of the Coldbath Brook. Scheduled.

Deposit of 'potboilers' c30cm thick extending for about 8m along
stream, exposed in both banks. Discovered 16th November 1980 by
LH Barfield. [Note in gazetteer of burnt mounds in the S
Birmingham area]. (1)

Pair of burnt mounds adjacent to the Coldbath Brook, oriented East-West. The mounds straddle the brook being circa 11m apart from centre to centre. The West mound is 13m in diameter, the eastern, visible in section, is circa 3.5m across. Both consist of burnt and heat-crazed cobbles. C-14 determinations give a date of circa 1000 BCE. Scheduled.
