More information : TM338897. Holy Trinity Church consists of a round tower, nave, South aisle, South porch, and chancel. The tower, North and West nave walls are Saxon, the tower walls containing blocked circular splayed windows. The South aisle and porch are C14th. The chancel was restored in 1755 from a ruinous condition. The tower can be accurately dated to the period 1000-1066 AD, and was built at the same time as the church.(1)
Church of the Holy Trinity. The tower is reputed to be Saxon in origin from evidence of a gabled arch, and has a C15th embattled top. The rest of the church is mainly C15th. Grade A.(2)
Holy Trinity has a C11th tower with herringbone masonry, and traces of triangular heads. The nave contains a Norman North window. Most of the chancel was in ruins from 1558-1754, when it was first restored. It was rebuilt in 1926 by FE Howard.(3)
