Summary : Parish church. 11th century west tower, 15th century, restored 1872 by Sir A.W. Bomfield. Ironstone rubble, ironstone and limestone ashlar. Plain tile roofs. West tower, nave, south porch, rectangular chancel and north recess. West tower with bell stage of 1872. There is a later 11th or 12th century grave marker against the east wall of the chancel.
More information : [TA 13970190] St. Nicholas's Church [TU] (1) The pre-Conquest tower of Cabourne church has a re-built modern belfry stage. The church has been re-built. (2) In normal use. (3) St Nicholas' Church, although heavily restored in 1872, contains some Medieval masonry and a Norman font was unearthed from below the floor during the restoration. (4) There is a later 11th or 12th century grave marker against the east wall of the chancel. (5)
