Summary : Cropmarks of a double banked and ditched enclosure. A pipeline was cut through this site and 2nd to 4th century AD pottery and beehive querns were found in a pit or ditch. Probably a Romano-British settlement.
More information : Crop marks of a double banked and ditched enclosure at
TA 05607065. Trenching for a pipeline in 1970 cut through the
ditch at TA 05527053 producing beehive quern fragments and 4th
century Romano-British pottery. Also, 2nd-4th century pottery
found in a pit or ditch at TA 05577056 during trench digging. (1)
