DESCRIPTION

Bronze Age round cairn on a hilltop west of Hollingworth Moor, comprising a flat-topped mound of stones. The cairn has been mutilated on the top and south sides by erection of a trigonometrical column and a dry stone wall.

A turf covered cairn was discovered at SJ 98879800 during
field investigation. It has been decapitated and its southern
limits destroyed.
Diameter 16.0 m, ht. 1.0 m.

A trig. pillar and a rough stone shelter have been built upon the
cairn.
A position sketch 1/2,500 Survey has been made. (1)

SJ 9887 9800. The cairn survives as a flat-topped mound of stones,
0.8m high with maximum dimensions of 19m by 18m. Scheduled RSM No.
23759. (2)
