More information : [SJ 90727835]. CAIRNS [LB] (Site of) (1) A number of cairns were found in 1808 in a field adjoining Stockport to Macclesfield road. (2). One was opened and, from the description in 2 , was apparently a composite cairn with peristalith, several cremations l with foodvessel (Abercromby Type l) of Irish affinity, now lost. (3) (2-3) The area is grass-covered and there is no trace of any cairns. (4)
SJ 9072 7833. Bowl barrow 60m N of junction of London Road and Bonis Hall Lane. Scheduled RSM No 22578. A slightly oval earthen mound up to 1.3m high with maximum dimensions of 26m by 25m. (5)
