Summary : Swan Bank is the remains of an alleged barrow or motte 139 feet in diameter and 10 feet in height. Roman pottery has been found in the vicinity. Field survey in 1974 suggests it is more likely to be a Motte.
More information : Burial mound at Swan Bank,Cookshill is circular in form measuring 139 ft diameter and I0ft high.Excavation revealed no finds. (1)

Swan Bank-possible barrow. A large flat-topped circular mound surrounded by a well-defined and comparitively deep ditch. (see section). It has all the attributes of a large bowl barrow but owing to negative excavation evidence, its origin, date and purpose must remain in question. Situated at SJ 9421 4303. (2)

Not a barrow; probably a medieval moated site. Known locally as the Roman Soldiers Burial Ground. Scraps of Samian ware have been found in the vicinity. (3)

No change. It appears to be a motte in wet,low lying ground.
Published survey 1:2500 correct. (4)
