More information : (SJ 9102 0044). Wulfruna's Well (NR) (1) Wulfruna's Well (NR) (Site of) (2) Wulfrun's Well. Traditionally supposed to have been frequented by the Lady Wulfruna. (3) "... the fine spring which supplies Dunstall Hall with water ... was anciently called Wulfruna's Well." (4) The well is now covered by the embankment of the railway sidings to the south and no trace of it remains. At the foot of the embankment, slightly north-west of the original well, is a stone-built pillar formerly fitted with a pipe supplying a small stone trough. It is inscribed, "In remembrance of the Lady Wulfruna, AD 994. (Obliterated) Stavelely Hill PG KC AD 1901." No details of the date of the original well were gained. (5)
