More information : (TQ 105038) Villa discovered 1978, with further excavation occuring in 1982, 1983 and 1987. Villa plan consists of a central range of three rooms, flanked on all sides by corridors which had been subdivided to make a number of smaller rooms. Roman period finds included Samian and other wares plus a coin of Carausius. Other features include additional post-pad and masonry. Roman buildings, a small suite of baths, fence lines, ditches and two corn-drying kilns. Ditches and pits containing Iron Age pottery and indications of Iron Age structures have also been uncovered in the area. (Site is at Northbrook College, aka Worthing College, Goring). (1-9)
