More information : (SJ 57475993) Tumulus (NR) (1) 'Robin Hood's Tump' a round mound, was excavated by W J Varley and found to be constructed of sand and turf. No burials were found but the material of the mound contained a dozen worked flints. Two post holes and a pit in the northern margin of the mound were attributed to an occupation of the site before the mound was erected. (2) (3). See plan (2) - AO/62/315/8. Scheduled as a round barrow (4). (2-4) A turf and tree covered round barrow 17.0m in diameter and 1.2m high. Re-scheduled (as a round barrow) 10.11.75 (a). Published survey 1:2500 correct. (5)
