HERONBRIDGE ROMAN SETTLEMENT

The site of a Roman settlement/Small Town. Buildings of timber and stone and what appears to be a Roman dock have been found. The Roman settlement is most likely to have been small and primarily agricultural rather than industrial or urban. Artefactual evidence dates from the first to early third centuries.
