More information : Shotwick Park. Ormerod gives numerous references to
Shotwick Park from 1349 to the late 17th century. It has long
been disparked but remains an extra-parochial district. (The
parish boundary probably indicates its area). (1)
Centred SJ 3571. The probable extent of Shotwick Park is bounded
by a virtually continuous line of hedges etc, enclosing the
extra-parochial district of that name.
No trace of a Park Pale was noted during field investigation,
but on the NW side a raised area, now a covert, along the SE side
of Woodbank Lane (from SJ 344717 to 354727) may represent the
remains of one. (2)
