More information : A Ro coin of Severus Alexander and another of Diocletian, were found in the field E of Sherburn Church, (a) (area SE 962774). An occupation level was found at a depth of 2ft in a trench dug in 1928, and 4th century potsherds were found in eleven places by Dr Kirk.
