this round barrow is shown on the 25" 2nd edition OS map of 1912. The site lies in an arable field and has been largely ploughed level, although there is a slight ground swelling at the approximate location. The barrow shows clearly on aerial photographs as a ring ditch approximately 20m in diameter.
The barrow was assessed as part of the Monunet Protection Programme in 2001, it is an isolated example of a ditched round barrow andother better preserved barrows survive nearby. It was not considered to be of the necesarry national importance to be scheduled but it was considered to retain sufficient stratigraphy and subsoil features, at least in the surrounding ditch, to warrent rescue excavation should there be any threat to thr monument.
