Summary : A Medieval aisled building within the precinct of Waltham Abbey, was discovered during excavations and dated by pottery to 13th-16th century.

Excavations in the monastic precinct in 1972 revealed a Medieval
aisled building (no 7). It was a substantial building with rammed chalk and mortar wall footings similar to the precinct wall. The floors were of large Medieval bricks, originally overlain by a tile floor. 13th and 14th century pottery was found around the footings and late 15th and 16th century pottery from the silt over the floors.
