Summary : Parish church. 12-15th century priory church of Snaith Priory consisting of nave with aisles and clerestorey, chancel with aisles and west tower. Restorations of 1867-68. Limestone ashlar with some sandstone, cobbles and coursed rubble to lower sections of north and south transept walls, clay tile repairs and patching. Benedictine cell from 1310-1539, (see SE62SW2).

St. Lawrence, Snaith was originally Norman, but only traces of that period remain, with 13th to 15th cent. features. (2)

A Church of St. Laurence

Mediaeval church consisting of nave with aisles and clerestorey, chancel with aisles and west tower. C12/13/14/15. Monuments to Sir John Dawnay 1493, Lady Elizabeth Stapylton, 1688, by Samuel Carpenter of York, and Viscount Downe 1837, by Chantrey. (4)
