More information : (Area centred SE 50604097) A tesselated pavement, about 120 yards south of Kirkby Wharfe church, was seen by Fothergill some years previous to 1711. Upon 'excavation' in May 1711 it was found to have been destroyed, only tesserae being recovered. (1) Roman villa at Kirkby Wharfe.
