More information : [SE 5535 1740] Moat [GT]. (1)

Published survey (25") revised. The moat has been partially filled in
at the NW corner, but is otherwise well-defined and partially wet. (2)

SE 554174. Walden Stubbs. Medieval moat listed in survey. (3)

A medieval moat is visible as an earthwork and medieval/ post medieval banks and ditches are visible as cropmarks on air photographs.

The moat is largely masked by trees from the air but a short section of ditch which has been interpreted as the south-eastern corner of the moat is visible at SE 5535 1740.

Further banks and ditches are visible surrounding the moat and on the same alignment and a rectangular bank surrounded by a ditch lies immediately to the east of the moat. However, the relationship between the features is unclear.
