"Ratcliffe Moat" is a quadrangular shaped ditched enclosure
situated on marshy ground. The width of the ditch is 34 ft and
the present depth 7 ft. (2)

Published survey (25") revised. The NE angle of the moat has been
destroyed; but the remainder (now dry) is well defined.
There are no visible building foundations on the central platform.
"Radcliffe Moat" is the locally accepted name and this spelling
appears on all editions of O.S. maps. (3)

13215. (4)

Part of the moat circuit is visible as an earthwork on air photographs. It measures between 7m and 14m wide. (5)
