More information : (SE 4157) St. Martin's Priory, Allerton Mauleverer, was founded by Richard Mauleverer c.1100 AD as a Benedictine cell of Holy Trinity, York, but was made subject to Marmoutier Abbey, c1110. The priory was granted to King's College, Cambridge c.1414. VCH states that in 1378 the hall with chambers annexed was dilapidated. The priors and monks held the church there (2). It has been suggested that the foundation of the priory is associated with the early 12th century rebuilding of St. Martin's church (SE 45 NW 3) (3). (1-3)
