Summary : Methodist chapel and stables at Raithby Hall. The chapel was built in 1779 above a stable block that dates from 1758-62. It was built by Rober Carr Brackenbury and was dedicated by John Wesley on the 5th of July 1779. Built of brick with a hipped slate roof. The southeast side of the building, facing the hall gardens, is of domestic appearance. The southwest front of the building was altered in the early 19th century, when a plain forebuilding was built to enclose the original open outside staircase. |
