Summary : The Grosvenor Hotel of 1863-6 was designed by T M Penson and completed by his son R K Penson and Ritchie for the second Marquis of Westminster. It is constructed from stone-dressed brown Flemish bond brick and timber framing with plaster panels and a steep grey slate roof. The building is of four storeys in seven window bays plus basment and attics, heavily expressed in a quasi Vernacular Revival manner. |
