Castle Hill was probably the site of a 12th/13th c moated manor
house. In 1816 the site had been levelled though some remains
were still visible near the mill.
[O.S. 1st edition 1" shows what appears to be a small moated
enclosure here] (2-4)

The site is covered by allotment gardens. Nothing intelligible
remains. (5)
