Summary : The church is of 16th century date, the chancel is dated 1517 and was built by Thomas de Tykyll, Prior of Monk Bretton Priory. The building is of gritstone ashlar with Welsh slate to the nave roof and lead to the aisle roofs. The church consists of a west tower, four-bay clerestoried nave with lean-to aisles, south porch, and a two-bay chancel with north and south two-bay chapels. The interior contains 16th century glass. |
