Railway station in Tudor style by Sancton Wood 1848 surviving as a roofed building. Listed Grade II.

(TF 0290 0666) Railway Station of the Midland Railway Company was designed by Sancton Wood and completed in June 1848. The station buildings have coursed and square rubble walls and consist of a single-storey range with station master's house of two storeys and attics to the west; they are designed in plain Tudor style. the various waiting rooms have pointed windows and are provided with parapeted gables, an octagonal turret and tall chimney stacks. STAMFORD Mid. Opened 01-MAY-1848 (Midland Railway) renamed STAMFORD TOWN 25-SEP-1950 and reverted back to STAMFORD from 18-APR-1966. (2)
