More information : [SE 09302408] (3) Three Bronze Age cinerary urns were found at the gates at the bottom of the walk near Shaw Hill leading to the house called Heath in Skircoat. (1-3) The district "Shaw Hill" is now built-up, and "Heath" (formerly at SE 09302395 (a) ) no longer exists. An approximate find-spot answering the description above would be at SE 09372401. Roth further states that two of the urns were broken, and that the third was similar to the overhanging type found at Tower Hill [SE 02 NE 10] The present whereabouts of these finds is unknown. (4)
SE 09372401. Heath, Skircoat, Halifax. Three urns found prior to 1775. "At the bottom of the walk leading to the house called Heath in Skircoat". They were 3' below the surface, 3' apart and inverted; two were broken, the third containing calcined bones and dust, was 8" high and 4" diameter at the base. Lost.
