More information : Found during field inspection, the footings of a rectangular building contained within a sub-rectangular enclosure 11m x 8m at NT 80771129. 40m south at NT 80731122 are the footings of another building abutting a modern rectangular sheepfold. (1) These features are no more than the remains of old sheepfolds. (2) Farmstead complex: one rectangular building, enclosure and lazy beds to the W of Rennie's Burn, two rectangular buildings to the E of Rennie's Burn. A: rectangular building foundation: a turf covered bank with earthfaststones, 2m wide by c.0.3m high enclosing an area 11.2m long by 3.2m wide. There is a possible entrance to the S wall 1.5m wide. No internal features are visible. B and C: two subsidiary buildings are situated on a river terrace some1.3m above Rennie's barn. Both are rectangular and stone built but thewalls are reduced to turf-covered banks 1.5m wide and 0.5m high. B (the N example) measures 5.8m by 3.0m internally with a gap in the Send wall. There is a pile of stones within it. C is 5.0m by 2.9m internally but the SW side is part eroded by the stream and there is awide gap in the N wall. D: a small enclosure situated at the base of the valley slopes to the east of Rennie's Burn is square, 2.0m across within a turf-covered bank 1.2m wide and 0.2m high in which only one stone protrudes; it mayhave been turf-built. There is an entrance gap facing the Buckhams Walls Burn on the SW side. E: a series of five lazy beds, 7.6m long across the contours and each 2.0m wide. They are sharply defined and stand to a height of 0.4m. F: a clearance heap, 2.8m diameter and 0.3m high. G: an enclosing bank extending from F, which may overlie it, and swinging round to the top of the river cliff above Buckhams Walls Burn. Immediately east of A is a large rectangular sheepfold, recently collapsed, and above to the north a series of hollow ways running downthe nose of the hill. (3)
