More information : Axmouth: Possibly a Grange. Alien Benedictine cell dependent on Montebourg. Founded in the reign of Henry II; income in 1387 over #30; dissolved 1414. Sometimes reckoned as a distinct priory, and sometimes as a parcel of Loders (a similar priory in Dorset). Oliver doubts if it was a priory. Granted to Syon Abbey. (1)
