KINGS BARROW

A round cairn known as King's Barrow, situated on the summit of King Tor on Hookney Down. The cairn mound measures 21 metres in diameter and stands up to 2.3 metres high. A pit in the centre of the cairn was is the result of a partial excavation undertaken in 1872. The surrounding ditch is still visible on the southern side of the mound. Scheduled.
