More information : (SX 72624527) Norton Remains of (NAT) Mansion (NR) (1) The ancient manor of Norton, in Domesday called Notone, and in a deed in the cartulary of Buckfast Abbey about the middle of the 12th century called Northdune. In the regin of Edward the Confessor (1042-1066) the manor was part of the Abbey possessions. (2) No remains of an early building exist.
